# Kinassery | Mehar's Digital Garden

Kinassery is a utopia kind of non existing space that I wish to create. These ideas are about the world I wish to see and live.

## "Ideas are perishables"

There are a lot of ideas that come to my mind, grows or dies over time. I wish to document some of them, mostly because I wanted to refer those with people I care about while conversing.

# Digital Garden

A Digital garden is a place where ideas grow. Unlike blogs, it might not have an article kind of full structure in the beginning. I should be scribbling ideas here on the go. The whole idea of Digital Garden is inspired by my dear friend and mentor [Hrishi](https://stultus.in/) - Check out his digital garden [here](https://wiki.stultus.in/).&#x20;

> In basic terms, it is a different format for written content on the web. It’s about moving away from blog posts ordered by dates and categories, into more of an interlinked web of notes. Blog posts are articles at a point in time, while here it is living document. [Digital gardens](https://joelhooks.com/digital-garden) are also known as [Zettelkasten](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zettelkasten) or Second Brain.

# Intro - About Myself - Mehar

![](/files/-MUo0acqo1fPXy6mY7KQ)

Hi, Mehar here from [TinkerHub](http://tinkerhub.org) is my most common way of introducing myself. That's my public identity these days. I see work as an extension of who am I, even though this is a personal space you could find a lot of things around the domain I work.

I tried to be unique or at least not to fit in the systems. I never find doing anything that anyone else can do as an interesting thing, maybe I'm an original thinker I used to feel at times. I tried to do things that interest me at all points of my life. One lead to another. Organising FOSS events to College Tech Fest to world's largest web maker party - [Maker Party Kochi](https://medium.com/@meharmp/how-i-co-hosted-the-worlds-largest-web-maker-party-started-a-learning-culture-maker-party-9d12719c33be) during college days.

Build apps for Blackberry app world. Bagged some awards limited Edition phones and a decent amount through selling paid apps on store. This happened while I was in third year. Financially independent from that time onwards, made a [series of tweets](https://twitter.com/meharmp/status/1364046436346695680) about that recently. Check out the [Deccan Chronicle article ](https://www.deccanchronicle.com/141216/nation-current-affairs/article/kozhikode-youth-develops-secure-browser-app-blackberry)about my startup life.&#x20;

I was running Incubators and Accelerators as part of the [Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM)](https://startupmission.kerala.gov.in/). Resigned after 3 years with KSUM and moved full time with TinkerHub Foundation in the mid of 2018.

[Technology Innovation Fellowship program](https://meharmp.medium.com/paid-to-dream-my-journey-as-a-fellow-of-kerala-startup-mission-152f60edfcd6) by Kerala Startup Mission, Kairos Fellowship for young startup entrepreneurs, Global Youth Forum, Global Cooperative Entrepreneurship (Mentor) are some of the programs I was part of. Headstart Network to support startup entrepreneurs is my major volunteering experience.

# Contact

To be frank, I choose my people and limit whom I spent time with very continuously. My most preferred way of conversation is in person - going for walk, having a meal together. Mostly do only with people i really know in person.

[Email](mailto:meharmp@gmail.com) ( meharmp - at - gmail.com ) and [Instagram](http://instagram.com/meharmp) are two ways. Things related with TinkerHub can be send to <hello@tinkerhub.org>

WhatsApp could be the best way to get a response. Can't share the number here, you could get that through mail or Instagram.

I don't like surprises, unless someone is not dying, please don't ring up.

# People

understanding others & Figuring out relationships

It took me a while to see how different people are shaped up. Life was in autopilot for me for first two and half decades of my life. I didn't know how homes, families, parents and environment shapes different people to be who they are for a really long time in their life. I thought every home was like mine, everyone else was like me. Then it took a while to have deeper conversations and to see how much stories and experiences each one of us were having.&#x20;

From the time I figured how how my emotions are working, I was really really curious about how others feel and see things. I really started to build deeper conversations, about things that actually matters but not many talks about. Like insecurities, self doubts, little joys that they only know, stories that shaped them.&#x20;

Figuring out ourselves and figuring out others ( Relationships ) became my favourite thing to hear, to discuss and share experiences. &#x20;

**This section of garden primarily deals with notes about how do i see people, my reflections on different kinds relationships and experiences people shared with me.**

# A place to call home

While I was in Kozhikode with KSUM for two years, something really missed is having space/flat. Keeping a place for my people to come and feel at home was something on top of my mind. When somebody I care about seems to need help/feel lost, I really feel great to tell "come home, stay with us for few days"

Just before this lockdown came to Kozhikode. Staying with family feels so good. Still, the last few days I was kind of missing that there is somebody waiting to come to the flat, all those beautiful conversations while watching raining from my balcony.

It was raining here tonight, it feels so good to be alive. IcCompleted this small piece, have a read.&#x20;

# The five people around you

Even today I was wondering how people see things so differently. When we work/think 24x7 how to build a skilled youth for tomorrow, most of the people are stuck in shabari mala.\
\
This is something very true. I'm always grateful for the kind of people I was having at the end of my college days. They shaped my views.\
\
From there I deliberately choose people around me, and those people added many more. Today all my Eve's and even social feeds are stories of people who are challenging the status quo, taking action, building something new. So dear people, choose your closed ones. Let those people be kind, loving and with a mindset to grow.\

# Controlling Partners |

People who are insecure makes controlling behaviour. They fear that if their romantic partners are in free space, they may meet new interesting people and might leave them. That's the reason boyfriends didn't allow girlfriends to go for campus tours and trips with friends. The same go for GFs questions about all of her BFs female friends.

**Where do these Kalippans coming from**

Kalippans or angry men are by-products of patriarchy, who don't have an option to open up their mind or have a shoulder to cry on. They are asked not to show vulnerability or any emotions because men needed to be men. And men are powerful and control.

**What we can do**&#x20;

1\. Get out, you need an equal playground to have a conversation and make people understand that it's not going to work in a master-slave model.&#x20;

2\. Understand, end of the day what everyone seeks for peace, a place where nobody judges. If you can, be that understanding, never judging a person to them.

I feel so pity for all these angry controlling people as all I can see is a soul crying for care and love inside them.

# Move out 🏙

Move from your home town for some time. Get a small space for yourself in a busy city. Earn enough to take you for a self date. Observe yourself, what you choose when you have the freedom to choose anything. Know yourself better. Have some 'post' time. Go for a walk. Fall in love with yourself. Try a few things and meet the real you. Make some friends, Date a few. Do these before you settle for the 'forever' Life will be good :)

# Admiration

I had a huge admiration for women in power, women in control, women who know who they are. Despite decades-long oppression and the whole world against them, how do they do these amazing things? I always wonder about people who are brave enough to reimagine the world, when I will be one like them.

I have goosebumps when meeting / knowing about such women exists.

# Social Change

# Micro-movements and online & offline communities

Micro movements are the small groups like Kochi reads or the girls only travel group, which are community first & are creating spaces for people who otherwise didn't had access to.

<br>

<br>

# Reasonings for micro movements

> create a note / proposal about why its important to bring together youngsters who are creating small movements on ground, like mental health communities or small treking teams.
>
> add a brief note as the context of this, more political reasonings to this as the state of kerala's context, few of them are the highest HDI in India - but there is lot more to grow, the growing extreme communal and rightwing ideologies dividing the societies based on cast and religion in the country, the need for more community activities that bring together all the youngsters together. also the patriarchy that slows down girls from here, such activities can be a cultural change agent.

### Chat GPT&#x20;

\
Certainly! Adding a context-specific note that addresses the political and socio-cultural landscape of Kerala, India, to the existing proposal will provide a deeper understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in the region. Here's the additional contextual note:

***

#### Contextual Note: Grassroots Movements in the Socio-Political Landscape of Kerala, India

**High Human Development Index (HDI)**

Kerala stands out with the highest Human Development Index in India, reflecting significant achievements in health, education, and quality of life. However, this success story is just the beginning. There remains a pressing need to harness and channel the energy of its youth towards further inclusive and sustainable development.

**Rising Communal and Right-Wing Ideologies**

India, including Kerala, is witnessing a worrying rise in extreme communal and right-wing ideologies that threaten to divide societies along caste and religious lines. In such a climate, the role of grassroots movements, especially those led by young people, becomes crucial. These movements can act as bulwarks against divisiveness, promoting a culture of tolerance, unity, and shared purpose among diverse communities.

**Need for Community Activities**

There is a growing need for community-driven activities that bridge gaps and bring together young individuals from various backgrounds. These activities not only foster social cohesion but also encourage a sense of collective responsibility and citizenship among the youth. They are vital in countering the narratives of division and in nurturing a more inclusive society.

**Addressing Patriarchy**

Kerala, despite its advancements, is not immune to the deep-rooted patriarchal norms that often restrict the opportunities and freedoms of young women and girls. Engaging young people, particularly women, in leadership roles within these grassroots movements is essential. Such engagement not only empowers them but also serves as a catalyst for cultural change, challenging and gradually transforming patriarchal norms.

**Role as Cultural Change Agents**

Grassroots movements led by the youth can be pivotal cultural change agents. By advocating for mental health, environmental sustainability, and social cohesion, these movements can redefine cultural narratives. They can shift societal focus towards progressive values, equality, and collective well-being, which are essential in a state as diverse and dynamic as Kerala.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, fostering and uniting grassroots movements in Kerala is not just a matter of social development but a political imperative. It is a strategic step towards countering divisive ideologies, challenging patriarchal norms, and building a more cohesive, inclusive, and progressive society. Empowering Kerala's youth in this endeavor is crucial for the state's continued leadership in human development and social harmony in India.

# Change is not charity or poverty eradication alone, what Kerala wants now

Some Thoughts, lanugae might be an issue, wrote in ആവേശം&#x20;

There are a number of wonderful initiatives that are run by youth which are bringing together the community. As Kerala and time changes, we may need new sorts of collectives and movements that could address the challenges of the present day.&#x20;

If we ask, which are the present day alternatives to workers movements or socialist movement or the recent Kudumbashree movement that are relatable to millennials and Gen Z.&#x20;

I got reminded by this talk I heard as part of the policy Yatra I was part of. It was in Mumbai and some senior persona was talking, one of the thing he pointed out stood with me for long.&#x20;

He started talking about the vidharbha and the sad state of farmer suicides, we all were thinking about it deeply and then he continued, “more number of suiside happens here in Mumbai, house wife’s and students are most of the ones we are loosing, if human life got the same value, we should be talking about those too, right !?"

This question stuck with me, the underlaying realisation was, having things that some pay think pricy, might not directly propositional to emotional well being. When people says depression is a privilege, I tend not to agree to that. Property always shouldn’t be not having food. for me not having a safe space to went to, not feeling a reason to live, all are important things, that are needed to be addressed.&#x20;

For a fact we all know there are families that can spend lakhs or crores to marry off a girl but not a 100o rs for her to go and attend a workshop / session. Someone who have a number of cars at home are not allowed to go to another city in kerala to attend a hackathon.

There are many times of poverties, not having access to not having freedom to move / do a job / join a course / be with someone you like. So in order to bring justice / move society forward, we are in need of number of small / micro movements.&#x20;

# Social Project Ideas

There are a lot of changes I wish to see in the world, like everybody else I also have a very limited time to invest in everything I like. Since I can't work full time on everything I like to see, I could make it up by contributing to the mission by other means. Like networks, a little bit of financial aid and mentoring.&#x20;

What we do at TinkerHub is a change many wishes to see. That's why a lot of people contribute to the mission in many ways like financially, with their time or with their network.

Doing good increasingly became easy with the emerge of social media, you could tell your story, about the change you wish to see, the work you do, and people from different walks of life, who are connected to the cause in different ways will come together to contribute and make it a reality.&#x20;

People might be really surprised to hear this perspective or won't believe it at all. That you could lead a life while doing the things you loved to do. That you dont need to go to a day job to realise the social change you wanted to see. Trust me, I'm doing that and so do you.&#x20;

We have a small network of people who do social impact ideas. All are maturing and figuring out their ways slowly. It might take time to be financially sustainable, but it's possible.

You dont pay for schools in Kerala ( Private schools are really negligible in numbers [according to Kerala Niyamasabha](http://www.niyamasabha.org/codes/ginfo_1.htm) ), Health Care and a lot of things. How's that happening, we all pool together money as taxes, selected some of us to do the common facilities for all of us as MLAs & MPs. That's the way government actually work. It's possible in all scales, from local housing colonies to United Nations, People collaborate to meet the common goals.&#x20;

Finding people with a common goal is the only missing part. They will bring the rest of the resources to make a common dream a reality.

# Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls

![Reble girls Book & Postcard I bought for nieces.](/files/-MaBt0336eQ7NpL0n3Ex)

[Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls](https://www.rebelgirls.com/) is one of my all-time favourite social projects. It's a collection of stories of amazing women & their work in a good night story format.

## Why this matters&#x20;

We all learn from our surroundings, societies & people around us. When a young girl grows up in a patriarchal society, the images she might get about women might not be inspiring. If you dont see enough women doing leadership roles, taking ownership of lives & standing for themselves, the growing girls might believe it's okay, you cant dream big or it's a men's world, you dont have enough say in it.

## How it started

A couple of years back, maybe I was still in college then, I saw a video randomly on Facebook. This was that video & you will pretty much understand the why's.

<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1Jbd4-fPOE>

{% embed url="<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1Jbd4-fPOE>" %}

Spend 3 minutes 18 seconds on it, you won't regret it.

## How it works

The book & the project is already a success. The core principles that made the success in my perspective are

#### Relatability

When 'people like us' do things, we tend to do believe that we too can do that.

{% content-ref url="/pages/-MaBrLF2XkCZgkoZe66m" %}
[Theory of relatability in real life](/philosophy/theory-of-relatability-in-real-life)
{% endcontent-ref %}

#### Goodnight stories format

In the US & all, there is the custom of parents reading books to children just before they sleep, sitting next to the child in the bed. The child tends to be more interested in hearing stories in a good night stories format. 'like long long ago there was this girl who always wanted to fly....'

#### Curation

The team carefully curated the stories considering what we wanted the child to hear.

## I want to see Indian versions of this idea

I made broader ideas, Check this out.&#x20;

{% content-ref url="/pages/-MaR23gcpELuteuRK7ff" %}
[The Indian version plan](/project-ideas/good-night-stories-for-rebel-girls/the-indian-version-plan)
{% endcontent-ref %}

##

# The Indian version plan

India is a very wast country with a wide diversity of cultures. There was & are a lot of amazing women who fought against all odds of patriarchy & created a place for them in our history. From former prime minister Indira Gandhi to KK Shailaja, Phoolan Devi to Shakuntala Devi, Kalpana Chawla to Tessy Thomas. There are thousands of other stories of women who have contributed to society & didn't get the kind of attention they deserved.&#x20;

### Why an Indian version

Referring back to relatability, It will be more relatable for us to hear about a Dalit IPS officer in Bihar than a black first lady in the USA. We need to celebrate local stories in local languages.

### The plan

The broader plan is like this

1. Make a detailed plan & how we want to publish
2. Decide on the themes
3. Secure funding for the team
4. Hire / Get people who can get the stories
5. Translate to local languages (if we are doing that)
6. Make designs
7. Create marketing strategies
8. Print book

### My Involvement

There are N number of projects I wish to see in the world. Even though I wanted to get involved, It's not practically possible to work on a lot of projects at the same time. So generally I tend to find people who wish to do that or I support people who already do that with whatever resource I can contribute.

But in this project, I wish to be a co-founder or get involved actively.&#x20;

### What I can bring to the table

* This idea
* Setting up a team
* Some personal financial contributions
* An experts panel/advisers
* Connect with publishers
* Designers
* Networks to collect stories

### What I'm looking for right now

A women cofounder, who understand inequalities like patriarchy & cast in India. Somebody who can relate to the struggles of Indian women & keen on making a difference.

### Future Scope

This can make some good money if done for-profit company style. Could be a next level NGO / Social impact organisation if done as a non-profit. Either way, it's possible to make this a financially viable idea.

# Standing own feet 101 for Mallu girls

How to be financially and emotionally independent

Many of the opportunities that the digital explosion gave us are the possibility to be financially independent with our skills.&#x20;

Being able to travel, get a flat in a city all are possible to far more people right now. This was not the case a decade before.&#x20;

However, patriarchy didn't grow/evolved to the rate our girls are being exposed to the possibilities and the independent women they are becoming. Having a peer group/knowledge space to understand how others have cracked the patriarchal issues at home and societies to lead a life of their own style would be really helpful.

This could be a portal starting with when to get married or stories and experiences of people who choose not to marry. How to handle the situations around the marriage thing and the results.&#x20;

### Some potential topics

1. Financial independence 101
2. Dealing with parents
3. Dealing with log kya kahenge within ourselvs
4. The imposter syndrome
5. Healthy & toxic relationships
6. Emotional stability
7. Creating a support system

# The missing semester for life

Things should have been taught in school but haven't.&#x20;

### Topics

1. Emotional intelligence
2. Finantial litteracy&#x20;
3. Privillages and equal playing feilds&#x20;

![View from roof top bar during malesian visit](/files/-MUqKnn_ho6o5BvmfUur)

When was the last time you were in a rooftop pub?&#x20;

Friday nights were still reserved for young and stupid

Lights of those slow-moving traffic in metros&#x20;

Nice music playing and all those fairy lights

Catching up with old friends and some new ones&#x20;

Trying to strike a conversation with single ones

We had an opportunity to walk to the windows and&#x20;

talk about poems and life while looking at the city

I really hope we will go back to those evenings someday,&#x20;

# Letter to T

When I saw the results, the rank was not in top 10,000, even after repeating. I merely improved in a year, even with all the full time repeating classes and all. I don't know what to do. It was around 6 in the evening. I didn't even know what to feel back then. I just went to my room and slept. I slept for 14 hrs straight. It was my dream to join NIT. My tutors in the coaching center were convinced that I will get in, they even said that to my parents. It was practically hell for the next couple of months. Even though I had good ranks in CUSAT, it took forever to get in.&#x20;

That was a tough period. I had that guilt for not getting NIT for a long time. after a couple of years, I used to go and stay in NIT hostels with friends and build apps together. There was a lot of plus for being in Kochi. We had a startup village near, I started my startup eventually, met people, did maker party and started TinkerHub all while I was in college.&#x20;

My NIT friends when they started their startup, joined the incubator we build together in CUSAT. Since then I started realizing, all the toughest periods in my life ultimately turned around my life for the best. Every great thing I did back then, was a by-product of some not so happy situations. I know many communities made from breakups. I'm not saying it a good thing, but when you get out of something not meant for you, you will find something more interesting.

Nothing in my life went as I planned, but every unexpected turn brought something entirely new to my life. Something made me curious and excited. I think life is all about falling in love with your journey, things might not go as planned, but its all about knowing to navigate the boat in the storm and of course, learning to enjoy every moment of it.

**Dear dear T,**\
I hope you won't lose the faith in you, I hope you will find the strength in yourself. I know something good will come out soon, I don't know hows it looks like, but something I do know is, it will be something worth exploring and you gonna love that journey.

# Letter to S

I had sex with more women than I wanted to be&#x20;

But I do what to sleep with more women&#x20;

I wanted to sleep next to more Men&#x20;

I just want to sleep next to people I care&#x20;

I want to hug them before they go to sleep&#x20;

Often times I wanted to kiss the back of their necks&#x20;

I wanted to kiss the forehead of people I care&#x20;

I just want to make people safe and cared&#x20;

I wanted to tell people that they are loved For who they are,&#x20;

for whom they wanted to be&#x20;

There is a point beyond sex, Of course, I like having sex with people&#x20;

But always I value people for who they are&#x20;

I just wanted everyone around me to be free&#x20;

Free to do anything they wish to do without being judged&#x20;

I wanted to become a space where everyone feels safe&#x20;

I just wanted to be something that they were missing from their life ‌&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
I'm high tonight but S, I just wanted you to know, that you are deeply cared for and loved. For the person you were, you are and you wanted to be. you are loved from the core of my heart. Be peaceful as you were always.

# Non transactional care

Non transactional

പിന്നെ ഈ rat race ഇന്റെ നടുവിൽ ഇത് ഒരൊറ്റ ജീവിതമാണെന്നും പണ്ട് പറഞ്ഞ ജീവിത തത്വങ്ങൾ കൊറച്ചൊക്കെ പ്രായോഗികമാക്കാം എന്നൊക്കെ ഒരു ക്ലാരിറ്റി കിട്ടാൻ ഇങ്ങനത്തെ കഥ ഇല്ലാത്ത സംഭാഷങ്ങൾക്ക് ഗുണപ്പെടും.&#x20;

# Magic

You know what magic is, magic is being able to touch someone's soul. Defusing into their soul, just like the mist passing through us, we share a moment in our life times, we feel the presence and like the way it came, it slowly fades away. But I'm glad that we had this moment together, this shared feelings, this mist that just in it. There would be a lot of beautiful sunsets and starry nights awaits in eatch others life, mostly with someone else. But when I look back / see something that reminds you, I feel this chillness of the mist that we shared.

# Thousand true Fans

Thousand true fans is a theory, that summarised as - you only need a thousand true fans to be sustainable / successful.

This theory comes from US & Art background, but it could be applicable elsewhere as well. In US , if you can find 1000 people who are your true fans, and willing to spend $100 for your art / creation every year, you could make $100,000 which is good enought to have a decent living.&#x20;

In this wast world of 7 Billion people, there shoud be a thousand people who believes in the niche you are in, and if you can find them and produce something they feel valuable, you could do anything.&#x20;

In short you don't need millions of followers or anything to do what you love to do and suistain.&#x20;

Read more [here](https://kk.org/thetechnium/1000-true-fans/)

> the "1000 True Fans" theory is a concept popularized by Kevin Kelly, co-founder of Wired magazine. The theory posits that to be a successful creator, artist, or entrepreneur, you don't need millions of customers, fans, or followers. Instead, you need only 1000 "true" fans who are so dedicated that they will buy anything you produce.

# Thousand true fans in Indian context

How much you need to live in India.

I belive as an impact leader / artist if you can have 1 Lakh a month, in a non metro is good enought to have a decent living.&#x20;

So if you have 1000 people contributing ₹1000 every month, you could make a lakh a month.&#x20;

These costs are calulated on assuming

1. Single founder
2. No other production costs than this person time.

If you have more people in the team, you need a 1000 fans for thme as well to sustain.&#x20;

# Theory of relatability in real life

Relatability is something core to my principles around social change. It's not like oppressed / underprivileged people want to improve their quality of life, but when they dont have seen enough people like them doing that, it might be hard for them to believe in themselves, that it's possible to change the life for the better. Many considered themselves as victims of life, mostly because they dont have that confidence to make a difference in their life, that they are not in control of it.&#x20;

How to change that or how it changes, well in my theory seeing people of their kind ( having all the issues they are facing ) still figured out a way to make life in control and succeed in that.&#x20;

# Possibilities

# Start with Why

{% embed url="<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-fdJzvpX60>" %}

Start with why is a popular Ted talk & a Book by Simon Sinek. Even though there are different perspectives about the specific topic, The idea of start with why really helped me to get thought clarity, especially during early days of my career.&#x20;

Before doing anything, especially in work I think why am I doing this. What is my actual goal, what am I trying to achieve here. This asking me why really helped in getting clarity. Many of the times we may get lost in the process of doing things and ultimately forgot why we started to do this whole activity in the first time.

> "You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw *stones* at *every dog* that barks." Winston Churchill.

I believe best way to get clarity is to remove / avoid as many options as possible. So asking why before doing thing will help you to avoid doing things that wont matters.

# Science progresses one funeral at a time

Planck's principle

![](/files/-MVSLZScBbeIuD4ZbN3H)

> “A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.” Max Planck

Read more at [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planck%27s_principle)

This principle is an interesting one. Waiting for everyone to accept who you are / what you believe wont help. Some may change after seeing what you have done, some dont accept your ideas at all, but thats okay.&#x20;

Stop waiting for the magic to happen. Its your life and do what you feels right, as long as it wont take away anyone else's fundamental rights.

# God

### Story

So think about a place—a hilly place—like Munnar or Darjeeling or somewhere like that. Picture an old British-era house with stone walls and everything. I stay there. I’m young, maybe 22 or 23. I go to college from there and live with my grandfather. He’s probably in his late 70s, with a white beard and all.

I go to college, we live together, and he takes care of the plants and everything. We don’t talk much, but when I need to ask something—like for advice—he’s there. Otherwise, he doesn’t get involved in my day-to-day life.\
To me, that is the picture of God.

### Theory

All the Semitic religions have this idea of a Judgment Day—where after death, everyone who ever lived on earth rises again from their tombs. Then, in a vast open ground, their right-doing and wrong-doing are judged. Based on that, they go to heaven or hell. I think this is common across all Semitic religions.

I’ve always found the idea of Judgment Day interesting. Because so many people have wronged humanity in big ways—and many of them get to die peacefully. That makes you question the very idea of justice, right? I always think about that.

Long story short, my thought is: what if there is a Judgment Day—and God is my grandfather? He might not ask me anything directly, but maybe he’d just say,\
*“All those people around you who were in pain, who were suffering—they were my children too. I thought you might take care of them.”*

I’ve always felt like I had a lot of privileges. And when God says that, would I be able to look him in the eyes and say, *“I tried my best?”*\
That’s my litmus test. I always think—would I have the courage to look into his eyes?\
I know he won’t judge me. He won’t say anything.\
But did I disappoint him?

That’s my story of God.\
My theory of God.

# Hope

That we will be good, people around will be good. Keep close those people who make you hopeful ☺️

# Plan B

(at times ) Having a plan B is jeopardizing your plan A. You dont belive in plan A to the point that you will some how make it happen.&#x20;

# Thought Clarity

Thought clarity is the rarest thing I found in people. I really admire those who have it. There are N ways to live a life, there is no right or wrong, but knowing that we choose a specific path is really important.&#x20;

# Fate

I reached a point in life that I dont belive in fate. It could be totatlly a privilage to be like that. I know I choosed all the steps in my life, or choosed how to respond to things that happended to me. I dont belive in some random magic that will happen to my life and it will change for ever.&#x20;

I'm not sure about what will happen to me tomorrow, or what exactly I will be doing in my life, but something I know is, despite of what happens, I will find a way to navigate. That comes from the thought clarity.

# Time is a healer thing

Time is the best healer is a popular thought eveyone quote. I dont believe in change will magically happens, or time is the best healer thing. You need to take informed steps to make the change happen.&#x20;

In personal life context, wounds wont automatically heal. You might forget its there untill there is a trigger happens, or it became so normal that you wont recongize it anymore. I wish everyone should be able to do remedial actions as soon as something bad has happened.&#x20;

When you get emotionally down with something, try to see a counsillor as soon as you can - or take any help, dont live in pain for ever to the point it changes who you permenantly to live with that pain.

# Gratitude

If I want to keep on word with me, let it be gratitude. Whenever I see something good in someone, a nice movie I feel grateful for everything I had. It feels like I'm responsible for all the privileges I'm having. That I should take care of people who are less fortunate than I'm. Before that, I feel gratified that I get an opportunity to see all these good things happening to me, that I'm appreciating those, that I got an eye to see all those.&#x20;

I'm grateful to people who helped me in finding gratitude.

# Emotions Cloud

Most of the times people feel feelings as a set of emotions merged in different compositions. It will take a lot of efforts/thoughts/reading & conversation with people to start understanding and separating different emotions from the cloud.

‌ Once we are having that clarity on which all emotions are playing in making the current feelings, it's easy to work on each one of them as separate entities and make peace with each one of them.

‌ It took me a while to have the clarity / or the skills to see different emotions as separate ones and act on that rather than feeling like a cloud of emotions and react

# Prioritising Peace

Nothing in this world is more important than your samadhanam (peace). Cut off people, resign from a toxic workplace, move out from places that take away your peace.

‌ Something I will fight till my end will be for my peace, that's my way of prioritizing myself.

# A Note on Responsibility, Words, and Reflection

Through my work, friendships, and the many spaces I’ve been part of, I’ve interacted with thousands of people over the years. That’s been one of the most meaningful parts of my life. But I also recognize that in a few of those interactions—especially with women—I may have caused discomfort through my words or presence, even if unintentionally.

I can think of at least three instances where someone might have felt I had bad or confusing intentions. To be clear: these were never incidents of physical violation. I’ve never touched or hugged anyone without clear or implicit consent. These moments I’m reflecting on were not rooted in desire or any expectation—often I was trying to be honest, open, or simply supportive—but I now realize they may have landed differently than intended.

Even without any intent to harm, I believe that how someone experiences a moment matters. If any of my words or actions made someone feel unsafe, that’s mine to hold.

I think about this more often than people might guess. If I had the ability to undo that discomfort, I would. I’m not sharing this to seek validation or forgiveness—but to take responsibility, however small, for the emotional weight that words can carry.

If you were ever on the receiving end of that weight from me, I’m sorry.

—Mehar

# The Cost of Being Vulnerable

I’ve always believed in being honest. With myself. With others. I don’t try to act differently for work, for the public, or for what people expect a “leader” to be. I’ve never liked the idea of filtering parts of me to fit into someone else’s version of what’s appropriate.

But that openness—especially in the Indian context—comes at a cost.

Me and my partner have been in therapy for over a year now, trying to navigate the complexities of intimacy in our marriage. It’s been difficult, layered, emotionally charged. And for a long time, this part of my life has felt like a quiet ache I didn’t know how to name out loud.

Not long ago, someone asked me in a conversation: “If a genie granted you a wish today, what would you ask for?”

I said, “Good sex.”

Not to provoke. Not directed at them. Just the honest answer to a raw question. That’s what was weighing on me at the time. But I realized later that being that open, that quickly, with someone I barely knew, was a mistake. They didn’t ask for that vulnerability. They didn’t owe me the space to hold it. That moment has stayed with me. I didn’t mean harm, but I can imagine it may have felt unsafe. And that’s mine to carry.

People—especially those who work for you, or look up to you—can feel caught off guard by this kind of honesty. It blurs lines. And even if your intentions are clear in your mind, the experience on the other side may be entirely different. If they feel discomfort or unease, it’s not their fault for feeling it. It’s my responsibility to acknowledge it.

I’ve been told often: *Don’t be vulnerable. It makes people uncomfortable.*

I’ve mostly heard this from good people—fellow founders, friends in the impact space—who’ve poured their lives and savings into trying to make the world better. But when I bring my mess to the surface, when I ask real, hard, unresolved questions, it sometimes upsets them. Maybe it confronts something they haven’t resolved in themselves. Maybe they just don’t know how to help. And that’s okay.<br>

Still, I hold onto this belief: the world should be a place where people can be vulnerable and still feel safe.

Where we can talk about things that hurt without being framed.

Where honesty doesn’t always get you punished.

Where emotional truth isn’t seen as weakness or confusion.<br>

I may misstep. I may overshare. I may misread the readiness of a space. But I don’t want to stop being real.

This post is me trying to take responsibility for the things I’ve said that might have caused discomfort—and also trying to stay true to the kind of world I want to help build.

# Sarfaroshi ki Tamanna

The song Sarfaroshi ki Tamanna is a celebrated during Indian civil movements. I heard about from CAA/NRC protest times.

{% embed url="<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1KBGhqMU00>" %}

# Caste

## Caste is something that defines Indian society. It's worse than the colour in the United States. The only single injustice I can think about bigger than caste in scale is gender.&#x20;

Even though I live in India, I haven't experienced anything personally, because

1. I'm from Kerala, one of the most forward-thinking & developed society in India.
2. I born in a Muslim family, there is no caste inside Islam‌

\
Why makes caste so interesting for me
-------------------------------------

It's the most subtle injustice for most of my peer group & the biggest factor that defines why India like this even after 70 years of freedom.

‌ Sometimes it's so hard for me to explain these injustices to people, I will be wondering it's so in and around you, why can't you just see that.

‌ Then I learned about privileges. Now each day, I'm reminded about my privileges.

Nooru Simhasangal ( A hundred thrones )by Jayamohan is one of the books that helped me to grow as a person. It helped me to see things that were around me and never saw before because of my privileges.

‌ After reading this I could see things are so subtle and might not notice if we are from a privileged background.

# Rethinking Mementos & Gifts

Visiting colleges, taking sessions is part of my full-time job ever after my college days. Earlier as a fellow of @Kerala startup mission, then as project coordinator and now as @TinkerHub. I can say that I don't have enough place on my showcase in my home to put all the mementoes I have received.

I'm not a great fan of mementoes mainly, it took a lot of places like this, normally it will be heavy and fragile and thirdly there is nothing useful about it that your mom can show the new ones to others.

It was @yadu started giving Plants as mementoes from the @headstart days. Now it became a culture.

Giving plants and books are the best things you can give and receive as mementoes. I still think about the talk at MEC because watering this small guy is part of my morning routine.

This book is something I received last weekend from TKM. I hope more people will move from expensive mementoes that is only useful to boost our egos to something like these Which will get us connected to nature and make us more connected.

# Tech Product Ideas

Product that I needed. I think there will be more people who has similar needs.

I have seen a lot of great teams got lost by solving a problem that not exists. Finding a good problem that people find so painful, happy to pay for a solution is the key to building a great product. When you try to find a problem in some ways so that you could make a solution and sell it off, most of the time it won't work.

When you start working/doing things, you will find a lot of pain points. There is a possibility of many more people across the world might be facing the same issues. A small plugin, an app, a web app or a few lines of the script could do a lot of work. There are a lot of developers who makes $1000s every week by selling small plugins and tools that save a lot of time and efforts.

### Instagram Playlist Tool

There are a number of people who just publish their songs in instagram as reels. Many of them don't publish to youtube or anywhere else. What if there is a instagram player that can help you create playlist using reels.&#x20;

### Playlist Sync Tool

I have different playlists in different music apps. Its hard to find each songs in every app. So what if there is a tool that can sync across many music apps, adding songs to similar playlists.

### Common Meeting location finder&#x20;

For many friends to gather, based on people's location suggest best meeting place for all the people.

### Link sharing tool

A tool that can make a collection of links, like a link tree, and share that list with people. The lists can be shared with a selected set of people only, not public.‌

### Mac Android Clipboard sharing tool

I wish to see a free/minimal cost tool to do this. Right now I open telegram in phone and mac to share text between devices

### A career check

Most of the times, people find it hard to believe in themself that they have enough skills or done enough things to be ready to apply for a job. A checklist that they can refer to to make basics ready would be helpful.&#x20;

Update: Found this interesting tool made by a MEC Alumni. [Confused](https://reallyconfused.co/)

### Android TV Dashboard Tool

We have an android TV in a flat. I needed that to be used for work needs. An android TV app that could load a specific webpage will do the work. If there is an option to have a list of pages and manage that from the backend it will be cool. I could use the big screen to have a look at the dashboards I have made.&#x20;

Update Check out <https://www.lyst.so> build by Abid's team this week

### WhatsApp Chat Viewer

When you back up / export a chat to mail from WhatsApp, it will be a text file. When you try to open it, it will look like a log file and will be hard to read. It will be great if there is a tool, that could read this file and arrange the conversation in the way we see inside WhatsApp , so that we can read it easily like a conversation.&#x20;

### Discord Meeting scheduler bot

A bot that will schedule a meeting from discord chats & then sent event invitations to all people who agreed.

## Get paid / Let's collaborate

If you are keen on building any of these, I could find resources/funding for you. If you want to build it together, I'm open to becoming a co-founder for any of this project. Let's do this together, let me know.&#x20;
